Functional Assessment
The Occupational Therapy (OT) Functional Assessment at its core, serves to increase a person’s independence to enable them participate socially within their community and completes meaningful tasks. When a person has a diagnosed medical condition or disability that impairs his independence and functionality, they may be referred for an OT functional assessment to ascertain the person’s current ability according to his SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats). Then after, therapy goals are developed that involve either developing the person’s skills in the areas of deficiency or amending his environment with assistive technology to alleviate his difficulties.
We offer this therapy by combining both approaches to achieve our set goals and objectives.
